Lenguaje Vulgar, or Vulgar Language refers to cussing in Spanish. Cussing is a therapeutic tool which allows us to express frustration and let it pass, yet can also promote strength. The symbolic reference of my visual lexicon to language is an exploration into identity in the form of culture, ecology, non-toxic masculinity, politics, temporality, loss and ultimately triumph. As a visual artist, I pursue a variety of mediums to best translate the biographical narrative approach to image and form making. The reflective aspect of my work explores the daily hindrance of my disability.
